Jackie's Story

Description

A short animation to explain a little of the work of Cornerstone - a charity that champions the cause of people with learning disabilities.

I developed a new style for this animation and for once used the city I live and work in for the backgrounds. It's easy to feel lost and forgotten even in a city with over 200,000 inhabitants. By depicting Jackie as a small silhouetted stick-figure it seemed to amplify the human aspect of the story. The film ends with Jackie letting go of her inhibitions for a brief moment and trying to catch a snowflake on her tongue.

Jackie's story echoes that of many people who occasionally need just a little support.
