Waving Flag or Moving Cloth in Anime Studio
Waving Flag or Moving Cloth in Anime Studio - Anime Studio Tutorial
https://www.animestudiotutor.com/bones/waving_flag_or_moving_cloth_in_anime_studio/
20 July 2016ShoNuff93

This is a tutorial on how to simulate a flag or any other type of material look like it is blowing in the wind as well as how to simulate cloth movement...somewhat realistically!

This technique was NOT created by me! All credit goes to Victor Paredes.

https://www.youtube.com/user/tazatriste

For those of you who don't know, he is an Anime Studio Guru, professional animator and works with SmithMicro!

This was upload with his permission on the channel "Gilbert Concepcion". The channel seems to be inactive for a few years but you can check out his original video here!

This video covers the same concept but uses bones so you can add textures or pictures onto your object if you want to make your objects look more realistic.

The video also covers a technique I came up with a long time ago to mimic the movement of cloth. It's not perfect but you guys might find it useful for your animations!

Making the Lantern Background
Making the Lantern Background - Anime Studio Tutorial
https://www.animestudiotutor.com/masking/making_the_lantern_background/
20 July 2016ShoNuff93

This tutorial is to show you all how to use masking to create a gradient lighting effect that you would use for making flashlight or torch effects. It's pretty simple to achieve but you need to make two separate pieces of artwork .

You can do this by using another program such as Illustrator like I did or you can do it in Anime Studio by creating a background, duplicating and then changing all of the colors. I just used Illustrator because it's much easier for me to create backgrounds in it!

Once you've done this, you really only need to use a mask and use the LAYER blur function to make it look more realistic. (if that's what you're going for.)

As always, when you think of masking always remember it is a way to hide or reveal things!!!!!!!!

Nothing fancy. A few people asked me to make fireworks but I've never made any before so this is my first attempt. I sure I can make better ones but for now I thought some of you would like to have a look at this to see how I made these and then maybe deconstruct and make your own! You can find the file on the Anime Studio Pro facebook group page! or below in the supporting documents

Female Mouths in Anime Studio
Female Mouths in Anime Studio - Anime Studio Tutorial
https://www.animestudiotutor.com/bones/female_mouths_in_anime_studio/
20 July 2016ShoNuff93

This is an update/tutorial on making a rigged body turn character and creating lips for female characters.

This tutorial probably wasn't necessary because it literally can be summed up by saying "Watch my character creator tutorial. See the part where I make mouths? Just do that but add lips!" LOL! The same can be said about making a female character really. This is no difference in the construction of a male or female, just slightly different art. But I suppose this is good for those of you who just want to see creating mouths and that alone so in that sense it's good.

The body turn at the beginning is a little ambitious but I want to make a character that can really dance so I'm making it to see how much better I can make a music video like I did before with all of the new improvements to AS. Just wanted to keep you all posted!

Fighting Scene in Anime Studio
Fighting Scene in Anime Studio - Anime Studio Tutorial
https://www.animestudiotutor.com/bones/fighting_and_character_interaction_in_anime_studio/
20 July 2016ShoNuff93

This tutorial is not a how to create a specific fight sequence in Anime Studio but rather some tips, tricks and techniques that will allow you to create certain movements and interactions with more than one character.

It goes over using cycles to create jumping, perpetual motion, additive cycles, the use of onion skins to help make walking movements, hot to create a punch and reaction and using reference layers to create different depths for individual parts of each character.

Making a tutorial on creating an actual complete fight scene would take days if not weeks to cover everything so think of this as more of a tips video than anything else!

If you've never created a character in Anime Studio before I suggest you watch my tutorials for designing a character and the AT-AT walker to see how to rig a character and how to use target bones. The character design tutorial also covers how I make a face rig too!

If you're looking to make a much more complex type of fight scene, look up frame-by-frame animation and fight scenes on youtube. There are a few great tutorials on the subject and don't pass up the flash ones as the principal is the same!

Super Saiyan or Summoning Spell Effect
Super Saiyan or Summoning Spell Effect - Anime Studio Tutorial
https://www.animestudiotutor.com/animation/super_saiyan_or_summoning_spell_effect/
20 July 2016ShoNuff93

Hello everyone! I was trying to think of a way to create a special effect that looked similar to those summoning spells you see in video games and anime cartoons and this is what I've come up with.

It's not too....complicated but it does go into the concepts of using 3D space so just watch carefully, follow along and you should be alright.

There are 3 different effects shown in this tutorial and all are based on particles so if you like stuff like this, make sure you watch my other particle based tutorials as well so you get a better understanding of how they work.

And saying that, when working with particles....make SURE you play around with the settings! I can't stress enough that getting something to look the way you want takes a lot of tweaking! I can make dozens of tutorials on effects but you'll never grasp how they work unless you experiment!!!!

Anyway, hope you enjoy the tutorial!

Forward Scrolling Background in Anime Studio
Forward Scrolling Background in Anime Studio - Anime Studio Tutorial
https://www.animestudiotutor.com/particles/forward_scrolling_background_in_anime_studio/
20 July 2016ShoNuff93

To be honest, I'm still learning this one! I figured it out enough to make a quick tutorial but I think I'm gonna end up making an more in depth one later on because I can think of a lot of other uses for this!

As the title states though, this is a quick run through on making a forward scrolling background. It mainly uses particles to generate random elements that can be moved through 3D space without a lot of work to create the illusion!

Using smart bones with switch layers UPDATE
Using smart bones with switch layers UPDATE - Anime Studio Tutorial
https://www.animestudiotutor.com/layers/using_smart_bones_with_switch_layers_update/
20 July 2016ShoNuff93

This is a follow up to the "Switch Layer Dials" tutorial. It is just a faster easier way to set up a smart bone to control switch layers!

In this video I'm using it to rig a mouth switch layer to a smart bone and then us the bone to help me lip sync!

A 1000 thank you's to Victor Paredes for clueing me in on how to set this up the easy way and to show me how to use the copy previous keyframe function in Anime Studio! Awesome all day!!!

Switch Layer Dials
Switch Layer Dials - Anime Studio Tutorial
https://www.animestudiotutor.com/layers/switch_layer_dials/
20 July 2016ShoNuff93

I thought I'd make a video on how to make a smart bone action control switch layers. I also wanted to show a quick set up on making a smart bone dial that is set away from the character.

I should also mention if you want to make a visual reference smart bone you can just make it so it just controls a specific switch layer off to the side without linking it to another bone as well.
The reason I made the first example linked to the hand is so that in a busy scene, your control will always be near the hand!

My character was just getting too many switch layers in it so I'm in the process of creating a few of these switch layer controls and I thought I'd share as always!!! smile

How to make and rig an AT-AT in Anime Studio
How to make and rig an AT-AT in Anime Studio - Anime Studio Tutorial
https://www.animestudiotutor.com/bones/how_to_make_and_rig_an_at-at_in_anime_studio/
20 July 2016ShoNuff93

This is more of a test rather than a tutorial but I wanted to share the process of making and rigging a character with a technique that introduced to me on the Anime Studio Pro facebook page on a post by Paul McGrath. In it, he shared a tutorial about rigging a character so that when you move a part of the body, the body itself will move. It was made by Alexander Ptichkin ( I think thats his name) but it is in Russian so I couldn't understand. Victor Paredes of course came to the rescue and post a response on how he thought this might be done! So this is really just a test rig I had to make because I was so hype about trying the it out! As always there are probably a couple to tips and tricks that might help you guys and gals create your rigs a little faster so you can get to the fun part of bringing you art to life!!!!!
