This is more of a test rather than a tutorial but I wanted to share the process of making and rigging a character with a technique that introduced to me on the Anime Studio Pro facebook page on a post by Paul McGrath. In it, he shared a tutorial about rigging a character so that when you move a part of the body, the body itself will move. It was made by Alexander Ptichkin ( I think thats his name) but it is in Russian so I couldn't understand. Victor Paredes of course came to the rescue and post a response on how he thought this might be done! So this is really just a test rig I had to make because I was so hype about trying the it out! As always there are probably a couple to tips and tricks that might help you guys and gals create your rigs a little faster so you can get to the fun part of bringing you art to life!!!!!

Webinar: Creating Custom Facial Rigs
Webinar: Creating Custom Facial Rigs - Anime Studio Pro 9 Webinar
https://www.animestudiotutor.com/bones/webinar_creating_custom_facial_rigs/
19 April 2013Smith Micro Graphics

Join Vern in this 1-hour webinar as he shows you how to create your own facial control rigs to animate the faces of your characters in Anime Studio Pro. Learn how to build simple controls for opening and closing the eyes, and for animating the eyebrows. These control rigs will allow you to animate features such as these both separately and/or together.

Do you ever get frustrated with bones over the face of your characters that clutter up the preview while trying to animate? As part of the face control rig, Vern will also cover creating an "External Control Rig" in Anime Studio using the Bone Constraints feature. The "External Bone Control Rig" will eliminate visual clutter allowing for a completely clean preview of the character's face during animation. By making use of a non-rendering vector layer, "control markers" are assigned to the control bones and the bone display can be turned off completely in the Anime Studio preview. Nothing will block or interfere with your view of the characters head and face while you animate. By using the ideas presented in this webinar you can simplify and streamline your animation process.

How to Animate a Picture Book in Moho Pro 12 Using Original Illustrations. I animated my own picture book Little Angel using Moho 12. The movie is available as a movie and on iBooks with the movie included.

When you want animate a picture book in Moho (formally known as Anime Studio) you first need to edit the original illustration in Photoshop. First you need to decide which parts of the scene need to be animated. Then make different layers of the characters you want to animate. If you want to use dialogue in the scene you will need different mouth shapes. When you have finished in Photoshop export your file as a PSD. Then you can import the PSD in Moho. Choose individually, then all of the layers will be exported separately. Then you can setup your character, using bones. Or for simpler animations you can also animate with the transform tool. Photoshop I did all the editing of the illustration in Photoshop 2015 and I am now using Photoshop 2017. Photoshop is part of Adobe Creative Cloud. It is available in the total Creative Cloud plan, or you can choose to go for a single license.
