NEW in Anime Studio Pro 9.5 - When moving an object forward and back in Z, Depth Shifting is an option to preserve its apparent size. Anime Studio Pro 9.5 does this by automatically applying the proper amount of scale. This can be used to arrange landscapes, for example placing mountains far away without forcing them to become tiny.

To be honest, I'm still learning this one! I figured it out enough to make a quick tutorial but I think I'm gonna end up making an more in depth one later on because I can think of a lot of other uses for this!
As the title states though, this is a quick run through on making a forward scrolling background. It mainly uses particles to generate random elements that can be moved through 3D space without a lot of work to create the illusion!

https://www.animestudiotutor.com/layers/layer_ordering_for_beginners/
10 August 2012AnimeStudioTutor
This is a basic tutorial on setting up Anime Studio to allow animated layers.
Once layer ordering has been turned on, any re-ordering of the layers will be recorded.
For example, if you move 5 seconds into the animation, and move a layer from the bottom of the group to the top, a key point would be added. When the animation reaches this point that layer will go from the bottom to the top - i.e. from the back to in front.

Hey everyone! I've been getting a lot of requests for backgrounds and a friend recently asked me about making one that has a city street with buildings. I thought it was a great idea but also started wondering if I could make it 3D so I could create a lot of different angles for the same scene.
I found that I could pretty easily and this is the result. Now this tutorial shows you how to make VERY simple buildings but given time you could make the buildings and the scene a lot more detailed with a lot more depth but I think following this tutorial will give you a basic understanding of how it works and how to organize your layers.
Yes, there are other tools to create 3D objects in Anime Studio/MOHO as well but I feel like this is the best way to understand X,Y, Z coordinates and it allows you to add details you otherwise couldn't with extrusion and beveling tools.

I also wanted to give a big shout out to Justin Allen, a fellow animator who's own tutorial really helped me out by showing me how to align origin points (rotation points) so that I could easily turn and place walls making this tutorial infinitely more easy to do! He's got a great channel on youtube with awesome cartoons and amazing tutorials so check him out.
