Second Language

Description

An animated short I completed in spring 2008 which highlights the benefits of having bilingual pupils in the classroom. A young Polish girl and her Scottish classmates were interviewed about the highs and lows of moving through the school system when english is not your first language. To break the ice we introduced the kids to the animation technique of Pixilation. The resulting interviews were edited and the kids 're-cast' as cartoon versions of themselves.

This project is a collaboration between Peacock Visual Arts, Inverurie Academy and Aberdeenshire Council.
