Moho (Anime Studio) Tutorials

The Great Triumvirate is back in their latest adventure. When their friend and colleague is tied to a giant firework, Daniel Webster and Henry Clay race to his side.

Could easily spend more time tweaking this animation, but have to stop somewhere. The walk cycle is made from scratch and could really do with being re-done entirely, but it was good practise. I hope you enjoy.

Made in Anime Studio Pro 11 using particle and vector layers.
This is version 1, the waves aren't right at the moment, but they do kind of give the impression of moving water.
Please comment/share if you know of a better way to animate the waves.

This is a file template that is standard for the Japanese animation industry. It has a working time/frame counter that counts the frames and at every 24 frames 1 second will go up. This was configured with the standard Japanese and American frame rate standard of 24FPS. A timesheet and example timesheet is also included. The timer will stop working at 48 seconds.

Additional info there are two Moho files one with the camera set up for Japanese standard 1080p and one at the traditional layout resolution 2338 x 1653 it is important to note 1080p version is recommended and it will automatically scale up when 4K, 8K, and 16k is set and it will also downscale properly to 720p if needed.

Note in project settings AA is disabled as this is the Japanese anime standard. Reenable as needed.

Trying out the new Microphone for first time. He is in armour to save bothering with any mouth movement. Had a bit of a problem wrangling the "Switch" feature. At one point in this animation she turns (5 poses in Switch) then moves her mouth (3 poses in Switch within the last pose of the turn). Then later pouts (another 5 poses in the same Mouth Switch) .

I enjoyed painting the acrylic backgrounds but had to add some transparency as the colours were too strong and swamped the character. He needs a cast shadow but I couldn't figure out how to make a 3D shadow.
